Role: Full Stack Developer- Java/ Vue.js

Terms: Contract

Locations: Remote

Pay: Based on experience

Capstone IT is helping our client who was voted “best place to work” find a Full Stack Engineer (Java/ Vue.js) to modernize and innovate their platforms. You will be embedded in one of five agile teams focused on transforming core systems using modern development tools and patterns such as containerization, event-driven architecture, and robust API design. Your work will directly contribute to strategic growth initiatives.

 Top Skills:

• Java-based RESTful API Development
• js Front-End Development
• Event-Driven Architecture using Kafka
• Docker (and ideally Kubernetes) Containerization
• Data Management: SQL for managing data across multiple databases
• Deploying applications to the cloud

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and integrate modern APIs and applications.
• Contribute to a three-year strategy modernizing legacy platforms.
• Apply best practices for performance, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate in Agile teams and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs quickly and accurately.
• Participate in on-call rotation for post-deployment support.

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in event-based systems (Kafka or RabbitMQ).
• Experience with containerized app development using Docker.
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Solid SQL skills across databases (DB2, SQL Server, etc.).
• Comfortable with Agile processes and tools like Jira and Teams.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
