Senior Mainframe Systems Administrator  

Location: Onsite; Omaha, Nebraska

Terms: Contract to Hire or Direct Hire by End Client

Salary Estimation: $115-125K per year with Full Benefits Package

Capstone IT is helping our prestigious client to hire dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Mainframe Systems Administrator to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of our mainframe systems. This pivotal role supports our commitment to providing outstanding service by maintaining system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze mainframe operating systems and resources to optimize performance and reliability.
• Participate in the selection, testing, installation, and implementation of new mainframe hardware and software.
• Provide technical support to adjacent technology groups, assisting with troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 3 years in software engineering and administration.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with mainframe z/OS operating systems.

• Experience with Assembler, Cobol, and SQL.
• Experience with JCL, IBM utilities, common MVS file structures, and rational data structures.

Helpful Experience:

• Familiarity with Assembler, COBOL, CICS, BMC and data structures.
• Familiarity with FileAid, Expeditor IBM MQ and Broadcom CA7/CA1.
• Familiarity with REXX.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in  mainframe application programming.
