Salary Range: $70-$85/hr.; Based on Experience

Capstone IT is partnering with our client, a leading natural gas transportation and storage provider, to hire a Senior React Developer with Next.js experience for a long-term contract role. This position is based in Richmond, VA, and will play a vital role in developing enterprise-grade web applications, focusing on secure, scalable, and efficient front-end solutions as part of a high-performing software team. You’ll work on mission-critical applications and lead the software lifecycle from design to deployment.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in React and Next.js, with experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
TOP 4 SKILLS
- (3+ years) React Development, with a solid grasp of foundational principles and React 18.
- Experience with Next.js.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Expertise in creating modular, reusable UI components.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance user interfaces for enterprise applications.
- Write efficient, secure, and reusable code, adhering to modern development best practices.
- Debug, investigate, and resolve software defects.
- Collaborate within Agile teams, actively participating in sprints and technical discussions.
- Develop and uphold coding standards, offering mentorship and guidance to team members.
- Contribute to system modernization, new feature implementation, and enterprise application upgrades.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 6+ years of professional UI/UX development experience.
- 3+ years of React experience, with a solid grasp of foundational principles.
- Exposure to React 18.
- Proficiency in Next.js and UI libraries like Material-UI (Mui).
- Expertise in modular, reusable UI component development.
- Knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Familiarity with Jest, Git, and Agile development methodologies.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and scalable design.
- Large enterprise application development experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to navigate a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED
- Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, MongoDB, Azure DevOps, and Gradle.
- Knowledge of microservices, domain-driven design, and hands-on experience with Gradle.
