POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: IT Systems Administrator Department: IT

Classification: Contract to Hire Location: Bensalem, PA

Position Summary: Responsible for the administration and support of the company’s network infrastructure and related services. Responsibilities for the position include conducting the day to day support of the network and networking equipment such as routers, switches, wireless access points, wiring and firewalls. Reports to and works closely with IT Manager on day-to-day tasks.

Essential Functions: 1. Assists in installing, designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining hardware and software of various IT systems, including server, internal network, firewalls & intrusion detection/prevention, security applications, switches, routers, computers, telephones, etc. Ensures proper documentation of and tests the same, as necessary.

2. Troubleshoots network issues and reported outages.

3. Creates, maintains, and enforces network standards and procedures.

4. Monitors network and utilization metrics of IT systems for maximum performance; proactive troubleshooting as necessary.

5. Maintains security and monitoring measures of IT systems at appropriate intervals, and takes effective action as needed. Monitors defined access and enforces security policies. Apprises manager as appropriate.

6. Remains current on emerging tools, techniques, methodologies and technologies.

7. Serves as the main contact on help desk related issues and has the ability to provide 2nd tier level support for users.

8. Manages the VPN for users.

9. Advises Manager when new hardware is required; suggests purchases to management.

10. Available on call as needed.

11. Troubleshoots and resolves telecommunication related issues.

12. May perform other assignments as required by Supervisor. Qualifications Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering or other related areas strongly preferred. Or equivalent experience considered. Experience: Experience with LAN network management and administration including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support. Experience with Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Wireless Access Points and LAN / WAN topologies, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SQL. Experience installing and supporting Microsoft Server 2012, 2019, 2022, and Linux. Experience with Microsoft Office 365 or equivalent. Skills/Abilities: Must have the ability to provide senior level support as needed to help diagnose network issues.
