A respected mid-sized law firm on Long Island is seeking an Insurance Coverage Attorney to join its growing practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney looking to develop sophisticated expertise in insurance coverage analysis while working alongside experienced practitioners in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years of experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or related practice areas. Attorneys with plaintiff-side litigation experience who have worked extensively with insurance carriers and coverage issues are encouraged to apply. Compensation

• Attorneys with 1–3 years of experience: $110,000–$130,000
• Attorneys with 4–5 years of experience: $130,000–$150,000
• Performance-based bonus opportunities

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies, including commercial general liability, excess, umbrella, and professional liability policies
• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and declination letters
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic guidance on complex coverage matters
• Handle declaratory judgment actions and other coverage-related litigation
• Monitor and evaluate underlying litigation to identify potential coverage issues
• Collaborate with claims professionals, clients, and litigation teams
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
• Participate in mediations, depositions, and court appearances as needed

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New York and in good standing
• 1–5 years of relevant legal experience
• Experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, commercial litigation, or related practice areas
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
