Insurance Coverage Attorney – Melville, NY

Our client, a well-respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to join their Melville, NY office.

This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated coverage matters across a variety of policy types and complex litigation issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret insurance policies across multiple lines of coverage
• Provide legal opinions and guidance on coverage issues
• Handle litigation involving insurance coverage disputes
• Draft coverage opinions, pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
• Represent clients in matters involving policy interpretation and application of exclusions
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients on strategy and case management Required Experience:
• Strong background in insurance coverage analysis and policy interpretation.

Experience working with one or more of the following policy types:

First Party Property and/or Homeowners Policies  Commercial General Liability (CGL) Policies  Directors & Officers (D&O) Policies  Environmental/Pollution Policies  Construction Defect / Builders Risk Policies

Experience litigating coverage disputes involving:  Application of policy exclusions  “Other insurance” and priority of coverage issues  Additional insured provisions and scope of coverage Preferred (Not Required):

• Commercial litigation experience
• Labor Law defense experience
• Construction defect or construction damage litigation

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• 3 years of experience
• Admitted to practice in New York
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters and work both independently and collaboratively
