Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead key accounting operations and partner closely with the Controller. This role offers strong visibility across the organization and is designed for a corporate accounting professional interested in growing into a Controller position over time. This position will oversee financial reporting, compliance, cash management, and accounting operations while strengthening internal controls and supporting strategic decision-making. Open due to growth.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Oversight
- Support monthly and year-end close processes ensuring accurate financial reporting
- Oversee cash management, bank activity, and payment controls
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with corporate income tax, multi-state sales tax, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with external auditors and tax advisors
- Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls Customer Accounts & Billing
- Oversee customer accounts, billing, and invoicing processes
- Provide guidance on complex billing matters and account adjustments
- Monitor accounts receivable activity and support collections strategies
- Partner with internal teams to improve billing workflows and documentation
Operational Leadership
- Oversee accounts payable and royalty processing
- Supervise and mentor accounting and account services staff
- Serve as escalation point for complex accounting issues Systems & Process Improvement
- Partner with leadership to enhance financial systems and reporting tools
- Improve close processes and documentation
- Support broader finance and operational initiatives
Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience with multi-state sales tax compliance
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close
- Experience working with external auditors or tax advisors
- Strong analytical and financial communication skills
- Process improvement mindset and comfort with financial systems
