Accounting Manager

Our client has an immediate opening for an Accounting Manager! The Accounting Manager will supervise, coordinate, and perform Business Office functions under the direction of the Finance Director in accordance with sound accounting practices and under all applicable laws, regulations, and school standards. The Accounting Manager will join an outstanding team and contribute to their ongoing success and community involvement!

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post monthly billing and send monthly statements on past due accounts.
  • Prepare and post monthly ACH drafts – submit file and record payments
  • Post deposits – manual or remote to GL and all online credit card payments
  • Record payments from auctions and supplemental programs
  • Send communication and make follow up phone calls on delinquent accounts.
  • Process all invoices and statements as they are received – Obtain approval and GL coding.
  • Prepare weekly checks for signature and mailing.
  • Monitor operating checking account for verification of deposits, check clearing
  • Record bank transfers as initiated by Director of Finance.
  • Process payroll twice monthly
  • Annual W2 preparation, review and distribution
  • ADP knowledge for running reports based on the needs of the organization.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, retirement savings, flexible spending accounts, unemployment, and worker’s compensation.
  • Onboard and exit employees as required on benefits systems. Report as necessary to benefit providers.
  • New hire orientation – prepare new hire packages, assist in filling out forms and submitting to respective retirement, medical, and life insurance providers, etc.
  • Run background checks on new hires.
  • Assist Finance Director in preparing new hire contracts and collecting required onboarding paperwork
  • Reconcile all bank accounts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and sufficient experience in a Business Office to be able to perform essential duties.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Experience with general ledger and payroll systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to get the job done.
