Job Description

Our Amherst, NY based client is seeking to grow their Oracle Database Development team and is  open to candidates with comparable relational database and ETL experience.  You'll be primarily responsible for loading the data necessary for initial setup of system transactions, making enhancements to existing ETL procedures, mapping new data files, and creating and maintaining backend functionality for in-house applications. You'll also be responsible for formatting, editing, or creating low to medium complexity reports.

You'll play an active role in brainstorming sessions, development discussions, and weekly departmental meetings where your  suggestions, ideas and feedback are encouraged.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

1. Extracting data from structured and unstructured sources, transforming it, and loading it into Oracle databases.
2. Creating Oracle database functions, procedures and triggers.
3. Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including requirements, design, and user manuals.
4. Identifying and resolving data-related issues to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
5. Working with business stakeholders to build and enhance database functionality/ensure data consistency

Performance Measurements

1. Load monthly data accurately and within applicable timelines.
2. Properly map exceptions produced during loading procedures.
3. Maintain documentation to include any changes to process or requirements.
4. Balance short term tasks with long term development

Qualifications:

Preferred Education

College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field

Required Knowledge

• Experienced in SQL, PL/SQL or T-SQL and relational database concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to professionally manage confidential information.

           
Preferred Skills/Abilities

• 3-5 years of experience in managing Oracle, SQL Server or similar database infrastructure and supporting end data users
