The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior PHP Developer to join our client's development team.  In this role, you'll develop strategies to enhance the platform's architecture for future growth as new features are added while helping to remediate identified security vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Full lifecycle development for core PHP web application.
• Play an important role in security remediation efforts for the existing PHP application, addressing identified vulnerabilities
• Implement secure coding practices and standards across the development team
• Architect and develop scalable solutions to support continued user growth
• Evaluate third-party software solutions and recommend integration opportunities where appropriate
• Collaborate with development team members to implement modern development practices
• Mentor junior developers on security-focused development techniques
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and security standards
• Develop and maintain documentation for security protocols and procedures

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional PHP development experience
• Experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
• Proficiency with JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks
• Experience scaling applications to support large user bases 
• Experience in application security principles and implementation
• Knowledge of security frameworks, authentication systems, and data protection
• Evaluating value of third-party software solutions and integrating when cost/benefit outweighs in house dev. 
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
