Production Line Operator / Quality Technician Backup

Location: Hazelwood, MO
Schedule: Multiple Shifts Available

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Position Type: Temp-to-Hire

Compensation:

  • Temp-to-Hire: $16.50/hour
  • Quality Technician Fill-In Premium: +$1.50/hour when performing Quality Technician duties
  • Upon Full-Time Hire: $17.50/hour
  • Quality Technician Fill-In Premium: +$1.50/hour when applicable

CPAY Staffing & Recruiting is hiring dependable, detail-oriented Production Line Operators for a growing manufacturing company in St. Louis, MO.

This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in producing quality work. Employees will primarily work as Production Line Operators while receiving cross-training to serve as a Quality Technician Backup when needed. This provides valuable experience, additional responsibilities, and premium pay opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Operate and monitor production line equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load raw materials and remove finished products from the production line.
  • Inspect products for quality, accuracy, and defects throughout production.
  • Trim, stack, package, and prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Maintain production goals while following all quality and safety standards.
  • Complete production records and required documentation accurately.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Assist with minor machine adjustments and basic troubleshooting as directed.

Quality Technician Backup

  • Cross-train to support the Quality Department as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections on finished products and incoming materials.
  • Verify products meet company specifications and quality standards.
  • Document inspection results and report non-conforming materials.
  • Communicate quality issues with production leadership.
  • Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Follow established inspection procedures and quality documentation requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or quality inspection experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math, measuring, and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn multiple job functions through cross-training.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift.
  • Frequently lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Comfortable working around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety standards.
