Job Description
Quality Assurance Technician – Plastics Manufacturing
Hazelwood, MO | Full-Time | Competitive Pay + Growth Opportunities
Right Person. Right Job. Right Time.
Job Summary
If you’re the kind of person who notices when something is slightly off and can’t let it go until it’s fixed, keep reading.
We’re partnering with an innovative plastics manufacturer in the St. Louis area (yes, the kind doing real production, not just talking about it) to add a Quality Assurance Technician to their team. This is a hands-on role where your attention to detail directly impacts production, customer satisfaction, and overall plant performance.
This isn’t a clipboard-only QA job. You’ll be on the floor, in the process, making sure what goes out the door is right the first time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform in-process and final inspections on plastic products (dimensions, appearance, functionality)
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Identify defects, non-conforming materials, and production issues early
- Work closely with production teams to troubleshoot quality concerns in real time
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (not just pointing fingers, actually solving problems)
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and customer specifications
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring to the Table
- Experience in plastics manufacturing (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion… you get the idea)
- Background in quality inspection or QA in a production environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and work instructions
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Strong attention to detail (the real kind, not the “I double-check emails” kind)
- Ability to communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and leadership
- Comfort working on the production floor in a fast-paced environment
What Sets You Apart
- Experience with ISO standards or regulated environments
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Familiarity with plastic materials, defects, and processing issues
- A mindset that focuses on prevention, not just inspection
Why This Role Stands Out
- Stable, growing manufacturing environment with long-term opportunity
- Team that values quality and actually listens to QA input (rare, we know)
- Opportunity to expand your skillset across processes and equipment
- Competitive pay, benefits, and a company that invests in its people
The Bottom Line
If you take pride in catching problems before they become expensive ones, and you want to be part of a team that builds quality into the process, not just inspects it at the end, this is your kind of role.
