Department: Plant Operations
Reports To: Production Manager
Our Client Company is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead plant operations during assigned shifts while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees hourly employees, supports continuous improvement, and partners closely with leadership to meet productivity and quality goals.
Includes, but is not limited to:
Supervise production staff in accordance with company policies and procedures
Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
Monitor inventory levels of production supplies and report shortages
Evaluate departmental processes and recommend improvements
Ensure department productivity and quality targets are achieved
Support employees with order details and operational questions
Lead 5S development and maintenance
Maintain accurate order flow and status reporting
Ensure internal damage or cut errors are documented and corrective actions completed
Monitor equipment maintenance through the Maintenance Connection program
Train new hires and temporary employees
Conduct employee entry screening and facility sanitizing per company protocols
Ensure proper and safe inventory storage
Maintain housekeeping standards throughout the facility
Conduct pre-shift meetings and bi-weekly toolbox talks
Review and submit daily productivity and manpower reports
Communicate issues related to orders, materials, or staffing as needed
Ensure cycle counts are completed
Assist in production as necessary and fill in for the Production Manager when required
Support annual employee performance reviews
Perform additional duties as assigned
This position has direct supervisory responsibility.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
6–12 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret business documents, procedures, and regulations
Ability to write reports and correspondence
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate percentages, proportions, and basic measurements
Working knowledge of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, and diagram instructions
Certificates / Licenses
Forklift Certification required
Frequent exposure to moving machinery, airborne particles, and loud noise levels
Occasional exposure to extreme heat
Regular walking, sitting, and use of hands for computer and machinery operation
Occasional standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
Frequent lifting/moving up to 50 lbs
Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Ability to work under pressure and irregular hours
Strong conflict-resolution skills
Computer literacy required
