ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Configuring our machines to the customer’s CNC lathe specifications - Mechanical adjustments, disassembly, and modifications of mechanical sub-assemblies - Installation and testing of machine’s accessories - Perform wiring tasks on the machines’ high voltage and 24-volt PLC / servo drive motion control system SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Candidate must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical school certificate in related disciplines is preferred, but equivalent and demonstrated practical experience is acceptable. Knowledge of overhead crane operation, fork truck experience, and a commercial driver’s license is a plus. 2 LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as business correspondence, technical procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customer, and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. MECHANICAL SKILLS: Must be an above average mechanic, be skilled with hand and power tools, and possess professional work habits. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in machine building or automotive repair or equivalent practical experience. ELECTRICAL SKILLS: Proficiency using a multimeter and following a wiring diagram or schematic for the purposes of performing wiring tasks and troubleshooting. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form. Ability to solve practical problems and to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Machine Technician – Electrical This candidate will be responsible for mechanically and electronically configuring our machines to the customer’s CNC lathe specifications. This includes mechanical adjustments, disassembly and modifications of mechanical sub-assemblies, some wiring on the machines high voltage and 24-volt PLC/HMI motion control systems, and the final installation and testing of the machine’s accessories. QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical skills: Must be an above average mechanic, be skilled with hand and power tools, and possess professional work habits. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in machine building or automotive repair. Electrical skills: Understand basic electrical theory (Olms Law). Must be adept at using a multi-meter and reading and interpreting a schematic for the purposes of trouble shooting and accomplishing wiring tasks. General skills: Knowledge of overhead crane operation, fork truck experience/certification, and a commercial driver’s license are pluses. Candidate must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical school certificate in related disciplines is preferred, but equivalent and demonstrated practical experience is acceptable.
