Build Relationships. Find Great People. Keep St. Louis Working.

CPAY Staffing & Recruiting is looking for an experienced Staffing Specialist to join our team and specialize in recruiting for manufacturing, warehouse, production, skilled labor, and related positions throughout the St. Louis area.

We’re looking for someone with 2+ years of recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or closely related experience who understands that successful recruiting requires more than posting a job and waiting for applications.

The right person knows how to source candidates, pick up the phone, conduct effective interviews, evaluate fit, follow up consistently, manage multiple priorities, and keep the hiring process moving.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on position with significant ownership of the recruiting process. You’ll build relationships with candidates, develop talent pipelines, fill client openings, coordinate hiring activity, and help ensure successful placements stay successful after the first day.

If you enjoy recruiting, thrive on results, and know how to create momentum when a position needs to be filled, this may be a great fit.

ABOUT CPAY STAFFING & RECRUITING

Our mission is simple:

Right Person. Right Job. Right Time.

At CPAY, successful staffing isn’t about filling an opening with the first available person. We take the time to understand our clients, their work environments, and what makes someone successful within their organization.

We do the same with our candidates. We look beyond the resume to understand experience, reliability, goals, skills, and long-term fit.

The result is stronger placements, better retention, and relationships built on trust.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Staffing Specialist, you will take an active role in managing the recruiting process for light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, production, and skilled labor positions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage multiple open positions and candidate pipelines simultaneously

  • Recruit for manufacturing, warehouse, production, distribution, skilled labor, and related positions

  • Proactively source candidates through job boards, our ATS, referrals, networking, social media, and other recruiting channels

  • Conduct consistent outbound recruiting activity through phone calls, texts, email, and other communication channels

  • Screen and interview candidates to evaluate work history, skills, reliability, availability, transportation, shift preferences, compensation expectations, and career goals

  • Evaluate candidates for positions including production associates, warehouse employees, forklift operators, machine operators, assemblers, maintenance technicians, skilled trades, and other industrial roles

  • Identify transferable skills and determine candidate fit beyond simply matching keywords on a resume

  • Match qualified candidates with opportunities based on experience, skills, schedule, location, compensation, and career interests

  • Clearly communicate job responsibilities, schedules, compensation, workplace expectations, and hiring requirements

  • Present qualified candidates for consideration and coordinate interviews with clients

  • Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring process, including interviews, offers, onboarding, and start dates

  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates before and after placement

  • Conduct follow-up with placed employees and clients to identify concerns early and support stronger retention

  • Build and maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated openings

  • Develop long-term candidate relationships so CPAY becomes a trusted resource throughout their career

  • Maintain thorough and accurate candidate records, notes, statuses, and recruiting activity within our applicant tracking system

  • Prioritize urgent openings and adjust recruiting activity as client needs change

  • Manage multiple candidates, interviews, onboarding requirements, and start dates without allowing important details to fall through the cracks

  • Consistently work toward established recruiting, placement, and retention goals

  • Take ownership of assigned openings from initial search through successful placement and follow-up

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Recruiting Experience

We are seeking someone with at least 2 years of professional recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or closely related experience.

Experience recruiting within light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, skilled trades, or high-volume staffing environments is strongly preferred.

You should already understand the fundamentals of recruiting. We will teach you how CPAY recruits, our clients, systems, processes, expectations, and approach to candidate relationships.

Strong Candidate Sourcing Skills

You understand that recruiting is proactive.

You’re comfortable searching databases, working job boards, contacting passive and previous candidates, asking for referrals, building pipelines, and finding another path when the obvious recruiting channels aren’t producing results.

Confident Communication

A significant portion of this position involves communicating with people.

You should be comfortable:

  • Making outbound recruiting calls

  • Conducting candidate interviews

  • Asking direct and thoughtful screening questions

  • Communicating professionally through phone, text, and email

  • Discussing employment history and career goals

  • Explaining job opportunities clearly and accurately

  • Following up consistently

  • Building relationships with people from a wide variety of backgrounds

Results-Oriented

Staffing moves quickly, and ultimately, positions need to be filled with the right people.

You should enjoy working toward measurable goals and seeing the direct results of your recruiting efforts.

Persistent

Candidates don’t always answer. Interviews get canceled. Requirements change. People accept other jobs.

An experienced recruiter knows this comes with the territory.

You’re able to adjust quickly, continue sourcing, follow up appropriately, and keep moving until you find the right solution.

Organized

You may be managing several openings and dozens of candidate conversations at the same time.

Strong organization, documentation, time management, and follow-through are essential.

Accountable

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership.

If you commit to following up with a candidate, you follow up. If an opening is difficult to fill, you communicate what you’re seeing and adjust your approach. If something goes wrong, you focus on resolving it rather than waiting for someone else to take care of it.

Comfortable With Technology

You should be comfortable learning and working within:

  • Applicant tracking systems

  • Online job boards

  • Candidate databases

  • Texting and communication platforms

  • Email and calendar systems

  • Microsoft Office and basic business software

  • Online onboarding and employment systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or related experience required

  • Previous staffing agency experience strongly preferred

  • Light industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, production, or skilled trades recruiting experience preferred

  • Experience managing multiple open requisitions simultaneously

  • Experience conducting candidate interviews and employment screenings

  • Experience proactively sourcing candidates rather than relying solely on inbound applicants

  • Experience working within an ATS or recruiting database

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation

  • Ability to work with urgency while maintaining professionalism and accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and earn trust with candidates

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

Our regular office hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Because staffing involves supporting employees and businesses whose operations may extend beyond traditional office hours, there may occasionally be time-sensitive situations requiring a response to a candidate or client phone call, text, or issue during an evening or weekend.

This is not a regularly scheduled evening or weekend position. However, the successful person in this role will understand that staffing is a service-driven business and will provide reasonable flexibility when an urgent situation requires attention outside normal business hours.

COMPENSATION

  • $20.00–$24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

  • Commission opportunities in addition to hourly compensation

  • Opportunity for increased earning potential based on recruiting results, responsibilities, and growth

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success in this position means more than filling jobs.

A successful CPAY Staffing Specialist:

  • Builds and maintains a strong candidate pipeline

  • Responds quickly when hiring needs change

  • Consistently follows up with candidates

  • Provides accurate and thorough candidate documentation

  • Understands the positions they are recruiting for

  • Identifies strong candidates beyond what is written on a resume

  • Makes quality placements rather than simply filling seats

  • Builds trust with candidates and clients

  • Takes ownership of assigned openings

  • Meets recruiting and placement expectations

  • Contributes to stronger employee retention

  • Communicates proactively when challenges arise
