Job Summary:

As a Material Handler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement and quality control of materials within our warehouse. This includes loading, unloading, and transporting materials while adhering to the highest standards of safety and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Movement: Load, unload, and move materials using forklifts or side loaders.
  • Order Management: Read work orders or follow oral instructions to determine materials to be moved, sorted, or staged.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform in-process quality inspections and promptly report any damaged materials to the supervisor.
  • Documentation: Provide necessary work orders and documentation to Shear Operators, ensuring accurate material handling.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all company safety and quality policies, keeping work areas clear and safe for material transport.
  • Inventory Management: Count and stage the correct number of pieces for Shear Operators and return remnant stock to proper storage locations.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: At least one year of experience in materials handling (preferred).
  • Education: High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.
  • Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), mathematical skills, mechanical and technical capacity, and excellent time management.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing 85 pounds or more, and work in environments with airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise levels.
  • Certification: Valid certification to operate forklifts (preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk on elevated work surfaces, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and communicate effectively.
  • Work Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday with fluctuating hours based on assigned shifts. Overnight availability is required.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am – 6:00 pm
  • Night shift availability required
