Job Description

Now Hiring: Packaging Operator
Location: [Client Location – St. Charles, MO]
Our client company is looking for a detail-oriented Packaging Operator to join their production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently packaging products for shipment while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. You’ll work with a variety of tools and equipment to ensure that every order is packed securely and labeled correctly.


Key Responsibilities

Product Packaging

  • Package custom orders according to job specifications and company procedures

  • Build shipping crates, skids, or boxes using power tools as needed

  • Prepare items for motor freight, flatbed, air, or ocean export shipments

  • Apply proper packing materials and protective measures to prevent damage in transit

Tools & Equipment Operation

  • Operate packaging equipment and hand tools including:

    • Crosscut saws, miter saws, nail guns, staple guns, banding tools, and stenciling equipment

  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and maintained in good condition

  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and report equipment issues

Quality & Compliance

  • Read and interpret packaging specifications and job instructions

  • Perform 100% quality checks to ensure materials and packaging meet standards

  • Verify materials using specifications such as grade, alloy, and heat lot number

  • Mark and stencil containers clearly per work order requirements

Forklift Operation

  • Operate a forklift as needed to move packaged items

  • Complete forklift training and certification (provided by the company)


Safety & Cleanliness

  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, etc.)

  • Ensure shipping containers are clearly labeled and safely staged for pickup

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Dispose of waste properly and store tools in designated areas


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or packaging role preferred

  • Comfortable using power tools and packaging machinery

  • Ability to read and understand job instructions and shipping documentation

  • Basic understanding of material specifications and inspection processes

  • Willingness to complete forklift certification
