Job Description

A leading U.S. law firm is seeking a Senior Research Analyst for its Boston, Washington, D.C., or San Diego office. Reporting to the Manager, Research Services, this role provides expert, in-depth research to attorneys, legal staff, and administrators across the firm. It also serves as the subject-matter expert for the Corporate, Tax, and Public Finance sections, and it is a pathway to promotion to Lead Research Analyst.

The Senior Research Analyst will conduct high-level legal and business research using print and electronic resources. The role includes managing requests against department priorities, leading large and group research projects, and presenting findings in standardized department templates. Additional responsibilities include mentoring junior research staff, developing and delivering training sessions and research guides, and contributing to the firm's intranet and knowledge-sharing platforms. The analyst will also evaluate new resources and support collection development and budget management.

Candidates should have an ALA-accredited Master of Library Science or equivalent degree and 6+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in a law firm or corporate information center, with law firm experience preferred. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical, writing, and organizational skills, familiarity with emerging research technologies including AI tools, and a collaborative, service-oriented approach. The salary range is $100,000–$125,000.
