A leading law firm's AI subsidiary is seeking a Senior Data Architect for its Innovation team. This greenfield role owns the canonical data model and establishes Data Vault 2.0 as the governing methodology for the firm's non-financial data domains, including client, matter, timekeeper, firm, and practice group, on the Northstar Lakehouse.
The architect will design Raw Vault and Business Vault structures, define data contracts and architectural standards across all data verticals, and govern change control for canonical entities. The role partners closely with legal sector subject matter experts to translate domain knowledge into accurate data models, and trains and coaches the Data Engineering team through code review, pattern libraries, and implementation guides. It also contributes to the firm's AI readiness standards, including LLM, RAG, and vector search use cases.
Candidates should have 10+ years of data architecture experience, deep Data Vault 2.0 expertise, hands-on Databricks experience, advanced SQL and dbt knowledge, and a track record of establishing standards in a greenfield environment. Law firm or legal tech experience is preferred. The role is hybrid in the firm's offices nationwide, with remote options in approved states. The salary range is $200,000-$250,000.
