Position Summary
We are seeking an Experienced Polymer Lab Technician to support product development, quality testing, and production processes for epoxy coatings and industrial chemical solutions (cleaners, degreasers, and coolants). This role is hands-on and will work closely with production team to ensure consistency, performance, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring prior lab experience, strong technical curiosity, and a willingness to grow into a Chemist position over time.

Key Responsibilities

Polymer / Epoxy Coatings

  • Prepare and test epoxy coating samples, including mixing resins, hardeners, and additives.
  • Perform lab and mechanical tests (e.g., cure time, viscosity, adhesion, hardness).
  • Document and report test results, assisting in troubleshooting production issues.
  • Support scale-up of formulations from lab to production.

Industrial Chemicals (Cleaners, Degreasers, Coolants)

  • Conduct testing on cleaners and degreasers for stability, soil removal, foaming, and residue.
  • Assist with evaluations of surfactants, solvents, and additives.
  • Support quality checks of raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods.

General Laboratory & Production Support

  • Maintain accurate lab records, test data, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS).
  • Assist production and quality teams in problem-solving and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and proper chemical handling.
  • Work collaboratively across teams and provide technical support for internal and customer needs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in polymers, coatings, or chemical manufacturing.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related technical field (not required).
  • Prior experience with epoxy resins, thermosets, or industrial cleaning formulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience using standard lab equipment and measurement tools.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment alongside operators and quality staff.
  • Interest in career development toward a Chemist role.
