Job Description
We are searching for a Staff Accountant to provide onsite support with preparing and analyzing financial information.
Responsibilities:
- Collect data, analyze, and prepare federal, state, local tax reports and returns, including income and sales tax.
- Reconcile fixed assets, maintain the fixed assets system, and manage property tax reporting for various state and local agencies.
- Reconcile and report all royalties.
- Provide daily reconciliations, weekly cash flow reporting, month end journal entries, and monthly cash flow reporting. Prepare all cash schedules for external financial and SOX audits.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries, and document business transactions.
- Support external audits and internal quarterly and annual audits. Prepare all necessary audit schedules.
- Assist leadership in the preparation of monthly reporting packages.
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external auditors to ensure efficient and timely completion of audit procedures.
- Gather data for preparation of jurisdictional licensing and renewals.
- Amortize prepaid expenses.
- Support accounts payable with check requests and invoice processing.
- Audit contracts, orders, vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Provide support for the installation, modification, documentation, and coordination of the accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Design and implement systems for general accounting, make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare various accounting statements and financial reports explaining payables and receivables, invoices, purchasing, expense reports, discounts, and cost centers.
- Report discrepancies, changes, or recommendations, for resolution of problems to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, or accounting from four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least two years of related experience in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must be able to obtain gaming license.
- Proficiency with computer systems, accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, and manufacturing ERPs like SAP or Pronto is required.
