Job Description
A respected healthcare organization in Central New York is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its team at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This full-time opportunity is available on day and evening shifts and offers competitive compensation, a $7,000 sign-on bonus, and the opportunity to provide hands-on, resident-centered care as part of an experienced nursing team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of residents in accordance with individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures according to facility policies and safe nursing practices.
- Observe and evaluate residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns to the supervising RN or physician as appropriate.
- Direct and support CNAs in the delivery of resident care and completion of assigned duties.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of resident care, treatments, changes in condition, and other required information.
- Coordinate unit operations when serving in a charge capacity, including resident assignments, staff breaks, rounds, and oversight of assigned duties.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, physician and Nurse Practitioner rounds, and resident/family education as directed.
- Provide preventative skin care and support residents' physical, emotional, and environmental safety.
- Maintain resident confidentiality and follow all applicable nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.
- Current New York State LPN license required.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in medication administration and phlebotomy skills.
- Strong communication, time management, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Knowledge of resident rights, abuse regulations, and the healthcare needs of an aging population.
Additional Info:
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Day shift: 6:00 AM2:00 PM, including every other weekend.
- Evening shift: 2:00 PM10:00 PM, including every other weekend.
- Pay: $25.25$30.30/hour.
- Sign-on bonus: $7,000.
