Job Description
A respected healthcare organization in Oswego, New York is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Womens Services team on the night shift. This full-time opportunity offers experience across Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum, competitive shift differentials, and a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum.
- Care for low-risk pregnancies as well as patients requiring more acute care and frequent monitoring.
- Provide care and monitoring throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period.
- Provide routine newborn care within a Level I nursery and assist in coordinating higher-level neonatal care when needed.
- Care for a variety of womens health patients, including hysterectomy and other gynecologic patients.
- Provide care to medical/surgical, bariatric, and orthopedic patients when appropriate based on unit census.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current New York State RN license required.
- Current CPR certification.
- One year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to complete required IV Therapy, Pharmacology, Neonatal Resuscitation, CARE/EFM, and CBE courses within the first year of employment.
- Ability to complete unit-specific orientation across Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
Additional Info:
- Full-time, permanent position.
- Night shift: 7:00 PM7:00 AM.
- Base pay: $34.68$44.32/hour.
- Evening differential: 10% for hours worked from 7:00 PM11:00 PM.
- Night differential: 25% for hours worked from 11:00 PM7:00 AM.
- Weekend differential: Additional 10%.
- Sign-on bonus: $15,000.
- Approximately 430 deliveries annually.
- Unit includes 5 labor rooms, 1 C-section recovery room, a Level I nursery, and 8 postpartum rooms.
- Level I nursery provides routine newborn care with coordination through a Regional Perinatal Center for newborns requiring higher-level care or those born before 35 weeks.
