Job Description
A renowned healthcare system in New Hampshire is searching for a Registered Nurse for its Surgical Specialties Unit. This unit specializes in the post-operative care of multiple disciplines, including general surgery, urology, GYN, plastic surgery, vascular, ENT, orthopedics, pelvic medicine, and post-trauma care. In this role, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients within the department. You will engage in caring relationships with patients and families, work collaboratively with other healthcare staff, and use sound judgment while performing nursing and medical interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced inpatient unit.
- Provide skilled nursing care of chest tubes, multiple drains, VACs, colostomies, ileostomies, and complex wound care.
- Gather and interpret data through history taking and physical assessments and plan interventions to meet patients’ needs.
- Document care provided and the patient’s progress toward desired outcomes.
- Educate patients and families about the plan of care and how to manage their care after discharge.
- Administer medication to patients as directed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN license.
- 1+ years of clinical experience is preferred.
