A prestigious, Magnet-recognized health system in New York is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join its Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU). About the Role

In this position, you will deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care to cardiothoracic patients requiring continuous, high-acuity monitoring. You will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluate patient responses, and collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, respiratory therapists, and members of the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to cardiothoracic critical care patients, including those recovering from CABG, valve surgeries, thoracic procedures, and those requiring ECMO, VAD, and other advanced life support therapies.
• Perform ongoing patient assessments and adjust care plans based on patient condition and clinical judgment.
• Monitor hemodynamics, manage complex drips, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond rapidly to changes in patient status.
• Actively collaborate with the full interdisciplinary care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with hospital standards.
• Deliver compassionate, patient- and family-centered care throughout the continuum of critical illness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of CTICU experience required

Position Details

• Full-time, permanent role
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 pm-7:15 am
