Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Project Manager to oversee the implementation of a 34 km, 69-138 kV powerline project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the electrical transmission and utilities sectors. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Project Description:
• The project is an expansion of the natural gas transmission system in British Columbia. It includes four powerlines with an approximate total length of 34 km to four new compression stations across British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the 34 km powerline project from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline.
• Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and Indigenous communities, to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the preparation of project plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor project progress.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate project risks.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineering and support staff.
• Foster strong relationships with management, external partners, and customers.
Required Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Additional Assets in Education (optional):
• Post Graduate Diploma in Management (MBA) or equivalent.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (preferred).

Required Work Experience:
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management within the energy, utilities, or construction sectors.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale, multidisciplinary projects, including powerline construction and high voltage projects.
• Extensive experience in stakeholder management, including working with Indigenous communities and regulatory agencies.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing project budgets exceeding $50M.
• Strong background in safety leadership, environmental management, and regulatory compliance.

• Preferred Edmonton, with the alternative of Calgary location.
• Hybrid Model: In-Office (Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) Remote (Wednesday & Friday)
• **Travel is required for this role – once a month to BC for 2-3 days.
