Job Description:
We are looking for a LINUX/UNIX System Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing data exchange processes and cataloging data assets. The ideal candidate will have experience with LINUX/UNIX and GCP, Azure, AWS, VMware, and physical servers. This is a remote position based in the USA.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and operating systems across various cloud platforms, primarily Azure and AWS, with some GCP.
- Ensure system security through established best practices and proactive monitoring.
- Automate tasks and processes using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to the existing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain data exchange processes to ensure accurate and efficient exchange of data between systems.
- Catalog data assets across multiple systems and ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
- Design and implement data quality checks and data validation procedures.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve data-related issues.
- Continuously evaluate and improve data exchange and cataloging processes.
- Ensure that data is compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. (Preferred)
- Certifications in Azure, AWS, or GCP are highly desirable
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- At least 3 years of experience in LINUX/UNIX
- GCP, Azure, AWS, VMware, and physical servers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
