Job Title: Contract Seasonal Tax Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Specialist to join our team on a contract/seasonal basis. The ideal candidate will have large firm experience and public accounting experience, as well as expertise in State Tax Analysis, State Tax Planning, and State Tax Research.

As an Income and Franchise Tax contractor within the Multistate Tax Services group, you will provide compliance services to a core client base. You will work directly with Deloitte tax engagement teams in state taxation by working on large, complex tax projects, and have access to exceptional specialists and resources.

Contract is expected to run from about mid June to the end of October.

Responsibilities:

- Conducting research and analysis of state tax laws and regulations
- Assisting in the preparation of state tax returns and related documentation
- Providing guidance and advice to clients on state tax issues
- Developing and implementing state tax planning strategies
- Keeping up-to-date with changes in state tax laws and regulations
- Reviewing and maintaining state tax compliance
- Assisting in state tax audits and resolving state tax disputes

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or EA certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of large firm experience and public accounting experience
- Expertise in State Tax Analysis, State Tax Planning, and State Tax Research
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
