Astute People is partnering with a Natural Gas & Coal power plant owner and operator to recruit a Mechanical Engineer for its plant in South Arizona.

The Mechanical role comes with a salary ranging from $77,000 to $117,000 , great benefits and a relocation package.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will:

• Manage and supervise mechanical maintenance activities on steam & gas turbines, boiler plant and major rotating equipment.
• Work on long term engineering solutions to drive efficiencies.
• Plan and prepare for major plant shutdowns, overhauls and outages.
• Project manage, budget and plan maintenance activities.
• Work with the operations team to ensure the plant is operational.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• 2+ years experience gained on a power plant working with gas &/or steam turbines, boilers, large rotating equipment and auxiliary plant.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience managing and directing Technicians/Mechanics and contractors.
