Job Description

Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of radiological services. Participates in the review of radiological services, both current and for the future. Assesses and improves the quality of care and services. Utilize a variety of diagnostic and image-guided therapeutic techniques, including all aspects of radiological diagnosis, nuclear radiology, diagnostic ultrasound, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, breast imaging, interventional procedures and the use of any other imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of patients at KCC. This will be tailored to the individual training and expertise of the radiologist Working under the guidance of a registered cardiovascular invasive specialist as needed, conducts tests on pulmonary or cardiovascular systems of patients for diagnostic purposes. May conduct or assist in electrocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations, pulmonary-functions, lung capacity, and similar tests. Maintains equipment; records test results. Follows department policies and protocols.. Works under the guidance of a registered cardiovascular invasive specialist as needed. Monitors, analyzes, obtains, calculates and documents data obtained in procedures. Alerts physician to abnormalities or changes in patient responses. Explains testing procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety. Prepares reports of diagnostic procedures for interpretation by physician. Observes gauges, recorder, and video screens of data analysis system during imaging of cardiovascular system. Assists the physician during cardiac cath lab procedures including angioplasty procedures. Conducts electrocardiogram, phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, stress testing, and other cardiovascular tests to record patients' cardiac activity, using specialized electronic test equipment, recording devices, and laboratory instruments. Prepares and positions patients for testing. Obtains and records patient identification, medical history and test results. Checks, tests, and maintains cardiology equipment, making minor repairs when necessary, to ensure proper operation. Completes quality assurance processes and practices. Complies with all Joint Commission, federal, state, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Maintains all required documentation, logs, charts, forms and records in paper and electronic formats. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Performs other related duties as required and directed. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS $5,000 sign on bonus!!! Paid out on the first work week and only remitted if assignment is unsuccessful in the first 6 weeks Associate degree in allied health field; or bachelor’s of science degree as health science and registry eligible as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by Cardiovascular Credential International; or enrolled in an associate degree allied health program with graduation date within six months and registry eligible RCIS. Three years of current allied health experience in an acute care setting or registry eligible RCIS. American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months.
