Location / Work Model

The Data / Business Analyst will work on site 3 days a week in the IFM offices in SE Portland.

The Opportunity

As a Data/Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in analyzing customer data, supporting client engagements, and improving internal systems. You will work closely with a collaborative, hands-on leader and a close-knit team, gaining exposure to financial analysis, consulting workflows, and modern data tools.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and analyze client contracts, proposals, invoices, and related documents from multiple data sources
  • Extract, validate, and structure complex financial and operational data
  • Build and maintain client-facing and internal reports with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism
  • Convert PDFs and other source documents into structured Excel and Access datasets
  • Perform detailed financial and operational analyses, including:
    • Cost Structure & Spend Analysis
    • Contract & Pricing Analysis
    • Benchmarking & Comparative Analysis
    • Billing Error Identification & Validation
    • Financial Impact Quantification
    • Decision Support & Implementation Analysis
  • Maintain and enhance relational databases (Access) to support accurate reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and data quality
  • Leverage modern tools such as AI and Power BI to improve efficiency and insight
  • Respond to internal and client requests via email and phone, and participate in client calls and virtual meetings

What You Bring

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, functions, and large data sets
  • Strong experience working with relational databases (Access preferred)
  • Proven ability to extract data from detailed contracts and financial documents
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining organization and proactive communication
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively
  • Relevant professional experience may include data analysis, accounting, bookkeeping, legal support, or similar analytical roles
  • Comfort and fluency with AI tools and a keen interest in further developing these skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually
