Job Description

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Generate financial reports for management, the board of directors, funders, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for budget variances and financial performance.
• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and reviewing transactions.
• Ensure proper classification and coding of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures in a timely manner.
• Assist with the administration of grants and contracts, including budgeting, invoicing, and financial reporting.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process, providing support in the development of departmental budgets and financial forecasts.
• Track budget-to-actual performance, analyzing variances and providing insights to management.
• Assist with the preparation for audits and reviews by external auditors, government agencies, and funding partners.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting or finance, with progressively responsible roles.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Experience with non-profit accounting, fund accounting, and grants management preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE, Intacct, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
