Job Description

Our client, a rapidly growing and entrepreneurial manufacturing company in Dartmouth, is seeking a Manager, Accounting to help shape their financial operations and support exciting growth across the business.

This role comes as a result of the company’s rapid expansion and continued success and will lead core accounting functions, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. 

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Lead and oversee the full-cycle accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month- and year-end closing processes
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports 
• Drive cost management and reporting by monitoring manufacturing costs and maintaining robust cost accounting systems
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of accounting operations
• Provide strategic financial insights, risk assessments, and recommendations to support executive decision-making and business growth initiatives
• Lead or support ERP system evaluations, implementations, process automation, and other finance-related strategic projects
• Mentor, coach, and guide accounting team members to build capability and foster a high-performing finance team

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
• Experience in manufacturing or product-based industries is an asset
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
• High proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication abilities, with a proven track record of influencing business decisions
• Adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-growing environment and support evolving processes
