Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior Accountant on behalf of our client in Saint John, NB. This three-month term role is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to take on dynamic responsibilities.


While the position is based in Saint John, candidates from across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are welcome to apply, provided they are able to travel to Saint John as needed, working on a hybrid schedule.



Key Responsibilities for the Job:

• Lead and perform month-end and period-end close activities
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight to accounting staff
• Manage and perform inventory-related accounting activities, including reconciliations, analysis, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support business objectives
• Identify process improvements and contribute to enhancing accounting procedures and systems

Experience & Attributes for Success:

• CPA designation (or in progress) is preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to quality alongside the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Positive and professional interpersonal skills with articulate and adaptable verbal and written communication skills
• Dedicated work ethic with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
