Job Description

A respected and continually growing organization in St. John’s is seeking an experienced Controller to support its finance function. Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidate will oversee day-to-day financial operations, lead the preparation of accurate financial reporting, and provide financial analysis to help guide business decisions. 

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Lead and support the accounting and payroll functions
  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting 
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Monitor cash flow and provide financial analysis to leadership
  • Prepare internal financial reports for executive leadership
  • Support year-end financial statement preparation and external review engagements
  • Assist with financial process improvements and internal controls
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
  • Minimum 5 years of financial management or Controller-level experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring staff
  • Ability to quickly assess financial processes 
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
