Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk in Halifax for a versatile contract opportunity. This role provides hands-on support across general accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable, in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Immediate start required.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Coordinate and process accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile financial records, invoices, and statements
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures
  • Support the finance team with general ledger maintenance and reporting
  • Provide administrative and operational support as needed

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, commerce, or business; or equivalent training/experience
  • 1 – 3 years of accounting or finance-related experience
  • Comfortable using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to learn new systems and processes efficiently
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business preferred
