Job Description

We're currently seeking an Accounts Payable Administrator to join our clients' people-focused team based in Halifax, NS. This full-time, two - four week contract role will play a key part in supporting the organizations day to day operations. 

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording AP data
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
  • Communicate with suppliers to manage discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
  • Track down missing invoices and documentation for accruals
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal teams
  • Receive and verify expense reports, reconciling them with account balances
  • Facilitate timely and accurate payment to vendors

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent training/experience
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant accounts payable or bookkeeping experience
  • Previous experience in a project-based accounting environment is a definite asset
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office Suite
  • High attention to detail and ability to work methodically
  • Effective time management and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
  • A problem-solver’s mentality, with a desire to boost efficiency and stay productive
