Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance to join our client’s leadership team in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island. This permanent, full-time on-site role offers a competitive salary and is ideal for a forward-thinking finance professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence.

As a key member of the senior team, the Director of Finance will oversee all financial aspects of the business—including strategy development, budgeting, cash flow management, and providing insight-driven recommendations to support long-term growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Lead the company’s financial strategy, planning, and analysis
  • Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes to support strategic goals
  • Manage all financial reporting activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of statements and analysis
  • Monitor and report financial trends, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Manage cash flow, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and working capital
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and risk management policies
  • Evaluate and refine financial systems, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior management on financial decisions and business operations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and financial institutions
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring the right people are in the right roles
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a senior financial management role, ideally within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and hold team members accountable
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new systems and maximize the use of financial software
Salary Range:
  • $110,000 – $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
