Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and resourceful Program Coordinator to join our client’s team in Halifax, NS. This position is responsible for providing case management, mentorship, and resources to participants of a vibrant program. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension for an additional 3–6 months.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentorship in career and education planning
  • Conduct intake assessments and offer personalized academic and career counseling
  • Identify and address barriers to success; refer participants to appropriate support services
  • Develop relationships with post-secondary institutions and coordinate admission supports
  • Organize campus tours, workshops, and financial aid information sessions
  • Coordinate life skills and career planning workshops tailored to youth needs
  • Maintain detailed participant case files and track outcomes
  • Support program reporting and evaluation efforts
  • Collect participant success stories and contribute to impact measurement

Experience & Attributes for Success:

  • Degree in Social Work, Education, Youth Development, Career Counseling, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in case management, academic advising, or youth support
  • Strong understanding of education pathways, scholarships, and employment readiness
  • Proven ability to facilitate workshops and lead group discussions
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices is preferred
  • Proficiency in data tracking and reporting tools
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
