Job Description

Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in administrative support within an accounting or tax environment? We're looking for a proactive and efficient Administrative Coordinator to join our client's established, reputable, and local mid-sized accounting and tax firm in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

This newly created role plays a vital part in the firm's workflow. If you enjoy keeping things on track and being the go-to person for information flow, while having job stability within a cohesive team environment, this could be a perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for collecting and organizing client documentation
  • Track incoming information and identify which files are ready for preparation
  • Follow up with clients for outstanding forms, slips, or documentation 
  • Support onboarding and scheduling of client engagements
  • Provide administrative support during busy tax seasons, including assistance with tax slips and personal tax packages
  • Collaborate closely with accountants and preparers to ensure a smooth workflow
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Prior experience in an administrative support role, ideally within an accounting or tax setting is deal
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professional, clear communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting or tax processes is an asset, but not required
  • Tech-savvy with familiarity in document management and scheduling tools
