Job Description

We’re seeking a proactive and insightful Financial Controller to lead the financial operations and provide strategic insights for our agricultural client in Queens County, PE. This is a permanent role where your financial expertise and operational insight will directly support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
  • Collaborate with ownership to provide timely calculations and insights for quick, informed decision-making
  • Supervise the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare necessary financial reports for banking institutions and oversee cash flow management
  • Develop and track budgets against forecasts, providing variance analyses to highlight areas for improvement
  • Ensure seamless data collection and distribution processes across the organization
  • Serve as the main contact with CRA for remittances and audits
  • Collaborate with HR on cost allocation and remittance tracking
  • Oversee data security and document storage protocols
  • Manage software contracts and lead hardware procurement efforts to support evolving business needs
Skills & Attributes for Success:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, agricultural economics, or a related field
  • A CPA designation is an asset, though not required
  • Demonstrated experience in fiscal management, ideally within the agricultural sector
  • A strong understanding of agricultural operations and financial management practices
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to offer actionable insights
  • Excellent communicator, able to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Adaptable, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 based on experience and qualifications.
