Hours: 12hr shifts 6:00p-6:00a
Position Summary
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining fleet diesel vehicles and equipment to ensure safety, reliability, compliance, and maximum uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and driveline systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Respond to breakdowns and road calls as needed.
- Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance records accurately.
- Follow DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate repair needs and vehicle status to supervision.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of diesel mechanic experience (fleet experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy-duty vehicle systems.
- Ability to read repair manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain).
