We are seeking a skilled Wiring Harness Engineer to join our engineering team responsible for the design, development, and integration of electrical wiring systems for advanced vehicle platforms (e.g., off-highway, military, construction, or automotive vehicles). The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex harness routing, component selection, schematic creation, and compliance with industry standards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop low and high voltage wiring harness systems for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Create 2D schematics and 3D harness routings using tools like Creo Schematics, AutoCAD Electrical, Capital Harness, or Zuken.
  • Select appropriate connectors, terminals, wires, protective coverings, and electrical components.
  • Perform wire sizing, fuse/breaker selection, voltage drop analysis, and load balancing.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as SAE, MIL-STD, NEMA, UL, etc.
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BoMs), harness drawings, and installation manuals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and quality.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Incorporate customer and system requirements into design specifications.
  • Ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and field performance of wiring harness systems.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in wiring harness design and development.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of electrical system fundamentals, EMI/EMC, insulation, and grounding.
  • Proficiency in one or more harness design tools (Creo, Capital Harness, Saber, etc.).
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as Windchill or Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of harness manufacturing processes and installation best practices.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
