Job Description

We have been engaged by one of our long standing client partners to assist in their search for a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Law legal Assistant in their Family Law Practice.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in our clients legal support team, working closely with colleagues and lead attorneys to offer indispensable assistance in managing the complex and fast-paced world of family law cases.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Offer comprehensive support to the legal team, encompassing attorneys, by adeptly managing calendars, deadlines, and appointments.
  • Manage the scanning and emailing of documents to courts and clients, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
  • Arrange and facilitate meetings and appointments, handling schedule coordination and logistical arrangements.
  • Draft legal documents under attorney supervision and conduct investigative research to bolster case preparation.
  • Engage directly with clients, providing assistance throughout the legal proceedings, including aiding in the e-filing of documents with the courts.
  • Coordinate court appearances and hearings efficiently.
  • Aid in client billing, report generation, and collections tasks.

To be Considered: 
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience specifically in family law.
  • Familiarity with principles of NJ family law, statutes, codes, court processes, and rules of court.
  • Must have digital dictation skills and be willing to work overtime (paid, of course) if requested.
  • Ability to work effectively with people experiencing personal crises or when relations are strained, demonstrating skill in prioritizing and managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and following up on assignments.
