We have been engaged exclusively by one of our incredible client partners to assist in the search for an experienced Grant Writer.

Role: Grant Writer - Social Causes
Location: Hackensack, Hybrid
Job Type: Full Time - great benefits and PTO

Our client is dedicated to enriching the lives of children, adolescents, and adults through creative arts programs. They collaborate with local educational professionals to customize programs for students with specific needs, including social and educational goals. In addition to creative arts and therapy services, they offer various need-based services, such as career planning and rehabilitation therapies. Their programs encompass fine arts instruction, therapy services, enrichment programs, and summer workshops.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for social causes and be well-versed in grant writing, with a specific focus on foundations and grant applications that align with our organization's mission. The Grant Writer will play a crucial role in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and Identify Funding Opportunities: Conduct research to identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and other sources that align with the mission.
  • Grant Proposal Writing: Prepare compelling grant proposals and applications, addressing the specific requirements of each funding opportunity. This includes developing budgets, program descriptions, and impact statements.
  • Grant Management: Manage the full grant lifecycle, from application to reporting, ensuring compliance with grant terms and deadlines.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with program managers and other team members to gather information and insights necessary for grant applications.
  • Maintain Grant Database: Keep a comprehensive record of grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes, and ensure that the database is up to date.
  • Grant Stewardship: Cultivate and maintain relationships with grantors to enhance s chances of securing repeat funding.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management), Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proven experience in grant writing, particularly with foundations.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
