A fast-growing, well-capitalized regional bank is expanding its Business Banking team and is looking for an experienced Business Banker / Relationship Manager to join a highly collaborative, client-focused division.
This is an opportunity to work for a bank that invests heavily in its people, empowers autonomy, and has the resources of a large institution with the feel of a relationship-driven community bank. The culture is built on trust, long-term partnerships, and giving bankers the tools they need to succeed.
About the Role
The Business Banker / Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of business clients, driving both loan and deposit growth, and representing the bank as a trusted financial advisor across the local market. This role blends business development, credit evaluation, portfolio management, and cross-functional collaboration.
You’ll work with clients across diverse industries, partnering closely with internal teams to bring them the right mix of lending, treasury, and financial products.
What You’ll Do
- Build and grow relationships with business clients through proactive outreach, networking, and exceptional service
- Develop new lending and deposit opportunities through active prospecting and strong Centers of Influence (COI) relationships (CPAs, attorneys, brokers, CRE agents, etc.)
- Manage existing client relationships by supporting account needs, resolving issues, and conducting regular check-ins
- Analyze financial statements, interview borrowers, structure loan requests, and prepare credit recommendations
- Monitor existing loans and take appropriate action on delinquencies or risk concerns
- Collaborate with internal partners (Treasury, Residential, Insurance, Operations, etc.) to deliver comprehensive financial solutions
- Participate in community and professional events to elevate the bank’s presence and expand your referral network
- Maintain strong understanding of internal policies, credit guidelines, and compliance requirements
What You Bring
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client-facing skills
- Experience calculating loan terms, interest, and deal structures
- Ability to manage multiple client needs and projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience (Salesforce or similar) a plus
Experience Needed
- 3+ years in business banking, lending sales, or commercial banking — including experience analyzing financials or credit structures
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred (but not required with equivalent experience)
Why This Bank
- Growth-minded institution with a strong regional presence
- Modern, relationship-first culture — not a bureaucracy
- Leadership that invests in employees and values autonomy
- Strong back-office support, competitive products, and a deep bench of resources
- A chance to make a real impact and expand your career in commercial and business banking
