Job Description
Our client is a well-established, 20+ year old IT consulting and staffing firm with a strong presence in both the U.S. and offshore. Their delivery teams support clients across a range of industries including government, education, financial services, retail, and transportation. Their global delivery model includes a mature offshore development center with CMMI-certified processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive business development efforts across NYC and NYS agencies and departments
- Sell professional services and staffing solutions that solve complex workforce and technology challenges
- Manage the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, pitching, RFP responses, and contract closure
- Build relationships with procurement officers, department heads, and key public sector decision-makers
- Stay informed about local/state procurement trends, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience selling IT services, staffing, or consulting—not products
- Proven success selling into public sector clients, especially within New York City and New York State
- Strong understanding of government procurement processes and timelines
- Comfortable managing long sales cycles and influencing multiple stakeholders
- Self-starter with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
