The Team

The Global Stock Selection (GSS) Quantitative Research Development (QRD) team supports and enables stock selection research across the firm. The team maintains a robust infrastructure and tooling environment critical to the business and manages complex production workflows involving large-scale data processing.

QRD focuses on signal generation, model construction, and various aspects of portfolio construction to support our investment strategies. Working closely with researchers, the team develops new systematic investment strategies and refines existing ones. By combining technology expertise with a deep understanding of financial markets, QRD ensures research ideas are implemented effectively while advancing systems to meet evolving business needs.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and extension of:

  • Scalable, cloud-based storage and computing infrastructure.
  • Generalized research platforms.
  • Data ingestion and validation engines.
  • Model computation and signal generation pipelines.
  • Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing pipelines.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Python (primary language used for the role).
  • Experience with Java development.
  • Expertise in design patterns and object-oriented programming.
  • Strong understanding of large-scale application design, including service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, distributed computing, containerization, and cloud technologies.
  • A meticulous approach to testing and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity or experience with financial markets is a plus.
