Job Description

One of our clients is looking to hire a Tax Practice Leader in Atlanta, GA. Our client is a well-established, CPA and consulting firm, and they are looking for a strong leader. They serve privately held businesses and the families who own them. You’d come in as the tax lead on client teams, sign returns, and act as the trusted advisor for a portfolio of sophisticated clients, and you’d be handed an existing book of business with no selling required. It’s a hybrid role at a people-focused firm that isn’t metrics-driven, with a real path to equity partnership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead tax engagements for privately held businesses and high net worth individuals across C corps, S corps, partnerships, individuals, and trusts and estates
• Develop tax planning strategies and handle complex areas like multistate filings, consolidated returns, and accounting methods
• Stay hands-on reviewing work, while leading, training, and coaching staff, seniors, and managers
• Own your engagement economics, including billing and realization, and build relationships with bankers, attorneys, and other referral sources

Qualifications:

• Active CPA license and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master of Taxation a plus)
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, including recent time at a mid-sized local or regional CPA firm
• Strong command of business and individual tax, with experience on multistate and consolidated returns
