EHS Manager – Manufacturing Environment
Position Overview
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for leading all site-level environmental, health, and safety functions within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, minimize risk, and drive a proactive, safety-first culture across the facility.
The position operates within a broader manufacturing leadership structure and plays a critical role in aligning site-level safety strategy with enterprise initiatives, while supporting operational performance and continuous improvement efforts.
️ Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement comprehensive EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Serve as the subject matter expert for environmental and safety compliance, providing guidance across all levels of the organization
- Manage all environmental permitting and regulatory reporting requirements (air, stormwater, wastewater, waste management, etc.)
- Develop and monitor KPIs and metrics to proactively identify risks and drive continuous improvement
- Partner with plant leadership to embed safety into all operational processes and decision-making
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to reduce hazards and improve site safety performance
- Analyze incident and safety data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions
- Lead incident investigations and ensure timely, effective resolution to prevent recurrence
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure workforce understanding of safety procedures and compliance requirements
- Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, local authorities, etc.)
- Oversee contractor safety programs and ensure adherence to site safety standards
- Support capital and operational projects to ensure safety and environmental requirements are met
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including drills and site readiness
- Drive employee engagement in safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability

✅ Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory frameworks
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification (CSP, CIH, or similar)
- Experience managing environmental permits and regulatory reporting
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
- Demonstrated success implementing EHS programs in a plant environment
- Experience with safety management systems and reporting tools
- Lean or Six Sigma training (Green Belt or higher preferred)
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) a plus
